In 2009 Chris was awarded BBC2's Singer of the Year and Album of the Year awards, duly described by The Guardian as 'Gentle, powerful and classy - the finest and most original singer-songwriter to have emerged from the British folk scene since Richard Thompson'. His input into such projects as 'The Imagined Village' and 'The Darwin Song Project' has been utterly mind-blowing and this month will see the launch of his newest album Handmade Life - traditional song made completely relevant to today; un-compromising, gripping but also delicate and subtle. To us Chris is plain brilliant (and we both love lurchers!) |
