Julie arrived in England in 1964, carrying her Mexican guitar, and was named as 'Britain's First Lady of Folk' by 1965. She has never ceased to be a major influence on the international folk scene, travelling the world often standing up for humanitarian rights. After time spent living in Norway and then California, where she became involved with the suffering of the indigenous peoples of Latin America, she returned to Hertfordshire, continuing to champion human rights and peace projects. We are honoured that she will be appearing at the Red Lion once again this year. |
