Les writes strange and humorous but often soulful poems and comes from Manchester. He was an accountant (and once a footballer and marathon runner) before he became a professional idiot. Since the demise of Mrs Ackroyd, a small hairy mongrel, Les has been solo performer, working with humans from time to time.

Also here this evening will be Flossie Malavialle—sings like Piaf, talks like a native of Teeside! She came here from France to teach (and improve her English) in 2000-1 and after a year back home decided to return, becoming a much-loved addition to the English folk scene.
