Text Box: Swarb! It Suits Him Well is a touring tribute of minstrel friends that have come together to celebrate the great man and his music. Swarb passed away in 2016 and, not wanting a funeral, he said that instead he hoped for a great big jam session with his closest friends, playing great music and having lots of fun. We’re giving him and his many fans in the UK that party!

Joining together to pay tribute to the man’s matchless career (he passed away in 2016) will be his dear pals folk legend Martin Carthy and the reggae artist Jason Wilson and his band accompanied by fiddling maestro Simon Swarbrick—nephew and protégé.

The material will cover the legacy that is Swarb’s immense catalogue: from his Folk beginnings in the tradition with Beryl Marriott to the BBC Radio Ballads (Ewan MacColl, Peggy Seeger, A.L. Lloyd), Ian Campbell Folk Group to the groundbreaking duo of Carthy & Swarbrick, the golden years with Fairport Convention and work from his blazing ‘red’ collaborations with the late Singer/Songwriter Alistair Hulett.

Never one to rest on his laurels, his last great musical adventure was with the sensational Canadian Jason Wilson Band—their latest album, Kailyard Tales, will be launched exclusively on this tour!

The troupe may be joined by other special guests.

This will be the Wake of all Wakes and a night to remember in salute to a national treasure: SWARB!
